Thoughts, Ideas, and Tips to relax, reset, and recharge
The following is NOT…
Medical advice, a substitute for seeing a medical professional, or mental health provider.
The following is…
My thoughts, ideas, observations, and different tips that have helped me relax and recharge.
Through my work I have spent my life helping people enjoy moments of peace and relaxation.
I hope the following can do the same…

You’re in control…
You’re in control…
You are in control… of you.
You are in control… of your emotions.
You are in control… of how you react.
I have spent many years working on this, and it is not easy (sometimes).
How much do you let outside influences upset your harmony?
When you get angry, how long do you stay mad?
Can you separate your feelings from other people's feelings?
How fast can you reset?
These seem like easy questions.
Sometimes they may be, others not so much.
Outside influences include:
People
Places
Situations
Traffic
Weather
Simply put, Life
Anyone can look at this list and say yes. However, can you explain why?
Can you explain why you let yourself get wrapped up in someone else’s feelings?
Why were you bothered so much?
Why do things you can control throw you off so much?
If you can’t, no worries.
Everybody has a hard time with this as well.
Try this: ( 1st read may sound cold)
Ask yourself - Why should I involve my feelings and energy?
Why let someone else's anger rile you up?
Why kill your good vibes and joy because of someone else?
If it does not directly affect you…
Maybe don’t invest your energy.
Take stock, how much should you put into this?
How is this going to affect me?
Traffic/Weather the problem…
Take a deep breath and remember… Safety 1st!
Maybe the delay is the universe’s way of saying slow down.
Maybe it is saying leave earlier.
Either way rushing will not help, but it could hurt. An accident or other issues.
NOT helpful!!!
Make things easy on yourself and don’t add to your stress.
Please don’t think I am trying to say don’t be angry ever.
Mostly because that is not helpful either.
Acknowledge your own feelings.
Figure out if they are truly YOUR feelings or if someone/something is influencing you.
Wondering how?
Ask yourself “do I Have a valid reason to be upset with this?”
If yes: Try and pinpoint the why, what, who, and/or how.
Ask if you can change this, and if so how?
If no: Take a breath and release it. Leave it where it is.
Do your best to not dwell on anything for too long. That kind of thinking can negatively
affect your mind and body.
If this is a hard thing to do (and it will be, often). Have a plan. Know how to reset yourself.
Make a list of things that you can do to boost your mood quickly.
A favorite song or drink. A special treat or hobby. Come up with a way to calm your mind,
body, and soul.
Repeat a mantra or phrase like “ not my circus, not my monkeys.”
Something that helps you keep control of you.
A calm mind is far better than anioxus energy any day.
Don’t let someone else's grievances become your problems or add to your stress.
We all have enough stress, all on our onesies. No help needed.
So why take on more than what’s yours.

Self care is NOT selfish.
Throughout my career as a massage therapist in the spa industry, I noticed something...
Most people either revel in the joy of taking a break and having a moment to themselves.
Some people thou, feel almost ashamed or guilty to be doing something nice for themselves. The mere thought of taking time or spending money to treat yourself just seems wrong.
Well, it's NOT! It is Necessary!
If you don't take care of yourself who will?
And...
To the moms, dads, and other caregivers, if you don't care for you, you cannot care for anyone else.
If time or money is your reasoning maybe, just maybe, this might help.
Always busy? Schedule everything, always?
Then schedule "Me Time". Even if it's only 5 - 10 minutes, add it to your plans.
Okay, so what can you do in 5 minutes?
Well...
Actually a lot. For starters sit, breathe, and zone out (set a timer for this one)
Take a walk somewhere calm ( outside is best, weather permitting)
Stretch, meditate, listen to music, or have a cup of tea. Basically, do something that helps unclutters your mind. If only for those few beautiful moments.
When I can declutter my head, it does wonders for me. Like a quick reset.
Have more than 10 minutes?
Go for a bike ride or a long walk.
Take yourself out to your favorite restaurant.
Watch a movie or favorite t.v. show.
Take up yoga, painting, or gardening.
Everyone is different and only you know what makes you happy.
Little moments of peace and happiness can help so much.
Give yourself space and time. This can make all the difference in your overall mood and thinking.
So what my point?
Always remember to take care of you, because Self Care is NOT Selfish, and everyone deserves (and needs) a moment to reset.
Try this: Inhale thru your nose for 9 seconds
Hold this breath for 5 seconds
Exhale thru your mouth for 7 seconds
As you exhale let all your muscles relax and soften.
